摘要
The paper is to demonstrate the solution dedicated to the marine engines producer to improve their production and delivery planning. The core activity of the company is the production of marine engines. The company also produces spare parts for marine engines and provides services in field of manufacturing steel products. The issues in production and supply planning are connected with treatment of parts on strategic machines and service production. The proposed solution assumes the use of two levels of master schedule. The core of the solution is to plan the treatment of the parts on strategic machines, the spare parts and the services separately from the production of parts that are not produced on the strategic machines and marine engine assembly. The first level of the master schedule is dedicated for the assembly planning. This level provides the company with information needed for the production planning of parts not treated on strategic machines and about delivery dates of materials used for this production, and parts needed for the assembly of marine engine. It also provides the information for the second level of master schedule about the optimal dates of production of parts treated on the strategic machines. The second level of master schedule is used for the scheduling the works on the strategic machines, production of spare parts and service production and provides the company with data needed for delivery planning of the materials for this production.
