摘要
Cognitive Linguists believe that conceptual metaphor is universal, systematic and creative. The paper, based on Cognitive Lingusitics, presents the textual coherence of conceptual metaphor from two aspects: a coherent system constructed by one conceptual metaphor and a coherent system constructed by more than one conceptual metaphor, and points out the significant meaning of applying conceptual metaphor into second language reading teaching. Moreover, it also illustrates some specific methods of teaching for second language reading teachers.
