The research on the application of supply chain management in construction

There are still many problems in construction project management in China, especially in the aspect of materials and equipments procurement, stock management and information interchanging, and they have become barriers to the development of construction enterprises and construction industry. Based on the characteristics of construction supply chain, the paper brings up the management philosophy - construction supply chain management (CSCM) to solve the problems above. Finally the paper proposes proper suggestions on how to perform it for China, namely, establish strategic partnering relationship with other parties, adopt the "Third-Party Logistics (3PL)" to achieve the "just-in-time (JIT)" supply and establish an internet-based information platform.
