摘要
A new neural network model - called Adaptive-Neuron artificial neural Network (NAN) - is developed. An empirical justification of the neuron-adaptive activation function is given. The approximation ability of this NAN model to any continuous function is presented. Next, we prove that a NAN can approximate any piecewise continuous function to any desired accuracy, then relate the approximation properties of NAN models to some special mathematical functions.
