摘要
Emerging evidence indicates that, variation in the transcription factor 7-like 2(TCF7L2) gene may play a role in the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes. The paper was to focus on review the polymorphisms of transcription factor 7-like-2 (TCF7L2) and the possible mechanism that TCF7L2 causes type 2 diabetes. The genetic effects of TCF7L2 have been replicated with remarkable consistency across various populations and stand out as having by far the biggest effect on diabetes risk. There are five single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of TCF7L2 connecting with Type 2 diabetes, especially the two SNPs (rs7903146 and rs12255372), which have been confirmed in many experiments. The possible mechanism that TCF7L2 causes type 2 diabetes may help to treat and restrain type 2 diabetes.
