3D-Printed Dual Polarized Dielectric Rod Antenna for Millimeter-Wave Communication

摘要
A dual polarized dielectric rod antenna for polarization diversity applications at 35 GHz millimeter wave frequencies is proposed. The antenna is printable via a commercial 3D printer resulting in a very low fabrication cost. Two planar transition from microstrip to the rod antenna is proposed to excite the orthogonal modes. Co and cross polarization gain of each modes are 10db and less than 0dB toward end fire. The antennas 3 dB beam-width, radiation efficiency and its 10 dB matching bandwidth are 45 degree, better than 94% and 5 GHz, respectively. low profile, easy and low cost fabrication and good performance make the antenna a good candidate for dual polarization communication in millimeter-wave applications.
