The new BMW vibration and acoustic simulator, design and applications

Today's automotive engineering is forced to intensify its efforts in fast model cycles and short development periods. Furthermore, it remains less time for the verification of development processes with prototype vehicles causing a considerable risk. As a consequence, BMW carried out investigations on a new motion simulator especially designed for the CAE simulation of special physical properties of cars, e.g. the vibrational and acoustic comfort. Design, function and applications of this new type of simulator are explained.
