Effects of the cation size and shape on the stability of clathrate hydrates in the series of H2O-(i-C5H11)4-k(C4H9)kNBr (k=0, 1, 2, 3, 4) systems

摘要
The i-AmBu3NBr-H2O phase diagram is studied in the crystallization region of clathrate hydrates. Four polyhydrates with hydration numbers of 38 (mp = 13.8degreesC), 32 (16.1degreesC), 26 (17.0degreesC), and 24 (17.3degreesC) are found. Crystals of the most stable congruently melting compound are isolated, and their composition and melting temperature are determined. The influence of the cation size and shape on clathrate formation in the H2O-(i-C5H11)(4- k)(C4H9)(k)NBr (k = 0, 1, 2, 3, 4) series is considered.
