Evolution of microstructure in direct laser fabricated TiAl component

摘要
Direct laser fabrication technique has been used to fabricate rectangular strips of Ti48Al2Mn2Nb alloy using gas-atomised powders as a feedstock material. The microstructural studies have shown that that the microstructure is heterogeneous in nature and extremely fine in comparison to the conventionally processed material and are greatly influenced by processing parameters. Heat treatments for a number of conditions have been carried out to examine the stability of the microstructure.
