摘要
The author discusses the notion of the spelling mistake in the context of Polish as a foreign language pedagogy. She summarizes the differences between spelling mistakes in L1 and L2 in relation to different kinds of language norm and the communicative value of utterances including spelling flaws. She proposes three classifications of mistakes made by L2 learners (based on a small corpus of examples collected from Polish as L2 students of various linguistic backgrounds) and comments on their role in proficiency and achievement tests.
