摘要
RFID technology has been widely used in different business nature. Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) has recently adopted the RFID technology, installing a new 900 MHz RFED baggage handling system to replace the traditional infra-red bar code system. Beside the technical challenges faced in the design and installation stages, workers' human safety concern due to the radiated emission from the RFED system is also an important aspect. An EM assessment of the RFID system is carried out in the post-installation phase, and is presented here. Results have shown that the in-situ E-field level recorded for the whole system is well below the ICNIRP restricted level.
