摘要
Live cell detection using surface plasmon resonance (SPR) has recently attracted much attention. In this paper, real-time detection of living human cancer BGC-823 cells was achieved by a novel dual-CCD SPR imaging (SPRi) instrument in which a special flow chamber was designed and implemented. This flow chamber was able maintain suitable physiological conditions of living cells which permitted detection over long time scales. The proposed experiment outlined in this paper examined the effect of allicin on stimulation of cancer BGC-823 cells. Over the course of a 6 hour allicin exposure the total SPR signal response value was 1200 RU while cells not stimulated by allicin measured a response value of 2900 RU. This study demonstrates the ability of our SPRi system to detect the restrain effect of allicin on cancer cells in real time over several hours of data collection.
