摘要
Incorporation of the thiosemicarbazone pharmacophore in the otherwise inactive baccatin nucleus, viz. 10-deacetylbaccatin (10-DAB), on complexation with copper renders a highly antiproliferative compound Cu-DABTSC. When tested on a human breast cancer cell line, MCF-7, it was observed that 10-DAB treated cells were growth arrested but viable whereas Cu-DABTSC was lethal to cells at comparative doses.
