摘要
The atomic arrangements of TiO2(110)-p(1 x 2) and p(1 x 3) surfaces were investigated using impact collision ion-scattering spectroscopy combined with computer simulation. We found that the p(1 x 2) surface has the added Ti2O3 unit rows proposed by Onishi and Iwasawa [Surf Sci. Lett. 313, L783 (1994)], but a modification is necessary, i.e., the oxygen adatoms are located along the rows of fivefold titanium atoms between the Ti2O3 unit rows. We also found that the p(1 x 3) surface is constructed with the same added Ti2O3 unit rows as that in the p(1 x 2) surface, but the bridging oxygen rows exist between the Ti2O3 unit rows.
