摘要
This paper presents a conceptual framework for the analysis of supply chain structure. The authors identify three structural levels of supply chain as well as four structural dimensions that can be used to capture the structural characteristics of supply chain. In developing the conceptual framework, the authors draw on ideas and concepts from organization theory, operations management theory and system theory. The advantages of each relevant theory in assisting to understand the nature of supply chain structure are synthesized. The framework proposed provides a platform and base for future in-depth empirical studies of supply chain structure.
