摘要
This study had as object to examine the condition of the physical education curriculum component in high school, after the changes promoted by law no. 13.415/2017, by the DCNEM 2018 and by the BNCC, aiming to discuss the implications and trends that emerge from this process, as well as exposing the fundamental elements of the physical education proposal present at the BNCC. Supported by historical dialectical materialism, documentary research was carried out. It was found that the reform contributed to the deepening of the curricular hierarchy. Physical education has lost its mandatory status and its condition as a curricular component is not guaranteed. The teaching object pointed out by BNCC does not favor the pedagogical treatment of the central problem of this field of knowledge. Finally, the desired skills may or may not require scientific knowledge related to physical education, in addition to providing a limited development for young people.
