Self-diffusion coefficient and its relation to properties of liquid metals: a hard-sphere description

摘要
In this paper, simple but useful expressions for relations between the excess entropy, S-E, the self-diffusion coefficient, D, the viscosity coefficient, eta, and the surface tension, gamma, of liquid metals are presented. These expressions have been checked by comparing predicted values of D, eta, and gamma with experimental data of liquid Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Bg and Au near the melting point. The agreement between theory and experiment is excellent for the surface tension and reasonable for the viscosity coefficient. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
