ANALYSIS OF DOMAINS IN UNIVERSITY INSTITUTION: A PROPOSAL FROM THE EXAMINATION OF THEORETICAL-METHODOLOGICAL ASSUMPTIONS

Objective. Analyze theoretical-methodological aspects and from the analysis of the domain analysis and propose a methodological proposal to evaluate university scientific domains. Design /methodology/ Approch. This research delves into the theoretical-methodological aspects of the analytical paradigm proposed by Hjorland & Albrechtsen (1995) and, based on two approaches to domain analysis, the advantages of both perspectives in the investigation of university scientific activity are exposed. Results/Discusion. The scheme of indicators framed in the Bibliometric Studies and Structures and institutions in scientific communication approaches are identified. Conclusions. Institutional scientific domains require a holistic look at the scientific performance analysis process. Thus, the perspective of both approaches to domain analysis provides elements that allow us to really understand the scientific profile of an institution. Originality/Value. The methodological proposal based on 2 of the domain analysis approaches to typify the scientific profile of a university institution, constitutes an analysis tool for scientific evaluation.
