Assessing Brazilian industries' product development process for concurrent engineering

摘要
This paper describes a model for improving the product development process applied on Brazilian industries. It was developed to assess the product development environment and give recommendations to implement concurrent engineering. The AGES model is structured by maturity levels, critical factors, excellence criteria and practices. It is applied with a set of questionnaires, matrix of practices, evaluation diagram and matrix of action and infrastructure. The paper presents the results of the assessments in five Brazilian industries and compares these results with others obtained from European industries.
