摘要
The aim of this paper was to review of the cession of Union public water for aquaculture, contextualizing since the formation of large Brazilian reservoirs until the demarcation of the firsts continental aquaculture parks. The deployment of hydroelectric and combating the natural phenomenon of drought in the Northeast region promoted the formation of large freshwater reservoirs in Brazil. Until the late twentieth century, these water bodies were used primarily for electric power generation, human and industrial supply, irrigation of agricultural areas, navigation and fishing. In this period, the technology for fish farming in cages was propagated by Brazilian territory and aroused the interest of investors and the public power in harness them also to the practice of aquaculture. The need to sort this activity led to the demarcation of aquaculture parks in reservoirs of hydroelectric Itaipu, Furnas, Tres Marias, Ilha Solteira and Tucurui, beyond the Padre Cicero Dam. However, be belong before the policy of encouraging fish farming in cages in Union public water is consolidated, especially in respect the structure of the production chain and evolution of the legal aspects relative to environmental licensing.
