摘要
A study was conducted during 1994-95 on the effect of leaf extract of onion (Allium cepa L.) and garlic (Allium sativum L.) on germination of spores and growth of Aspergillus niger Van Tiegh.) and on the development of fruit rot caused by A. niger and the development of the fruit fly Drosophila busckii Cog.). Extract of garlic was more effective in inhibiting the germination of spores and growth of fungus but, on the other hand, the extract of onion more adversely affected the development of insect. Standard concentration of each of the plants was most effective. With increase in dilution of extract the inhibitory effect decreased.
