Synthesis, Structural, Magnetic and Electrical Characterization of Poly(o-phenylenediamine)/CoFe2O4 Nanocomposites

CoFe2O4 nanoparticles were prepared by an auto-combustion method, and poly(o-phenylenediamine) (PoPD)/CoFe2O4 nanocomposites containing different ratios CoFe2O4 (10, 20 and 30%) were synthesized by an in situ chemical oxidative polymerization method. Dielectric constant and loss of PoPD/CoFe2O4 nanocomposites were varied based on the dopant concentration. The crystalline sizes of the CoFe2O4 nanoparticles and PoPD/CoFe2O4 nanocomposites were calculated using XRD pattern, and it is also confirmed nanoparticles embedded in the PoPD matrix. The hysteresis loops of CoFe2O4 and nanocomposites show a ferromagnetic behaviour, and saturation magnetization of PoPD/CoFe2O4 nanocomposites increases with an increase in concentration of CoFe2O4 nanoparticles. TEM micrograph of PoPD/CoFe2O4 nanocomposites demonstrated CoFe2O4 nanoparticles deposited on the surface of PoPD matrix.
