摘要
Faced with the classic model of social intervention that starts with the diagnosis of "social problems", approaching the work of the doctor, which is so often classified as a biomedical paradigm, there emerges today an alternative model more concerned with change, transformation, education and empowerment of the subjects and communities involved, here called socio-educational intervention, based on social pedagogy and intercultural mediation. The text begins by presenting the classic paradigms of socio-educational change, criticizes the social intervention palliative and based on diagnoses performed by specialists without recourse to the voice of the subjects, and ends up pointing to a mediator and empowering social intervention based on social pedagogy and intercultural mediation as fundamental pillars of social education.
