摘要
It is widely accepted that optimal nutritional status assists in the support of the immune function, improves the quality of life, and frequently prolongs life for many patients with HIV/AIDS. Clearly, the dietitian has an integral role on the comprehensive medical team caring for a child with HIV/AIDS. Although the dietary treatment of these patients is challenging, the maintenance of optimal nutritional status can be achieved by an early and accurate assessment, periodic reassessment, and the formulation of an appropriate treatment plan.
