Eating disorders in adolescents and young adults

The primary treatment of amenorrhea should be establishing healthy eating habits rather than supplementing with sex hormones. This article focuses on the medical management of these common conditions, with emphasis on the role of the woman's primary care provider. Practical solutions to common problems are emphasized, in addition to strategies to effectively communicate with patients.
