Intra-Body Channel Characterization of Medical Implant Devices

摘要
The propagation channel for intra-body communications between implant medical radio devices is investigated by simulations. The electromagnetic field produced by several implanted antennas located at different positions inside the human body is calculated by the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. The path loss (PL) between transmitting and receiving antennas is evaluated at the Medical Implant Communication Service (MICS) band (402-405 MHz), at Industrial, Scientific and Medical (ISM) band of 2.45 GHz and at the frequency band of ultra wideband (UWB) communications.
