摘要
A potential implementation of quantum-information schemes in semiconductor nanostructures is discussed. Physical qubits are realized ill terms of the two lowest energy levels of a semiconductor quantum dot. Encoding information in suitable singlet states is found to strongly suppress decoherence induced by the coupling to the phononic environment. The proposed strategy allows to realize a quantum-mechanically coherent evolution on a time-scale long compared to the femtosecond scale of modern ultrafast laser technology.
