摘要
25 genotypes of turmeric from different parts of India were evaluated under high humid sub-tropics at mid altitude (1000 m MSL) of North East India. All the genotypes differed significantly with respect to all 10 characters studied. Plant height, weight and internodal distance of primary finger rhizome showed positive and significant correlation with rhizome yield, while the dry matter recovery was observed to be negatively correlated with yield. The scatter diagram of glyphs based on yield against plant height or weight of primary finger: rhizome classified the genotypes in a similar pattern. PCT-13 and Lakadong formed solitary groups and were genetically most distant. Groups II and III consisted of maximum number of genotypes with moderate yield potential. In general, there was not much variation within the groups. The land races of North Eastern Region almost got clustered in low to moderate yield groups, while genotypes from Southern region scattered among different complexes, ranging from moderate to high yielders. Sonajuli locals-1 and -2 were identified as important genotypes of North East Region of India. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
