摘要：
The efficient exchange of medical information between institutions is one of the principal features of electronic health record (EHR) systems. Because there are a number of differing EHRs in use, an interface for the exchange of information between systems is required. We have developed an exchange procedure using SGML, named Medical Markup Language (MML) version 1.0. The method chosen for MML uses the addition of a tag to explain the medical significance of each datum. The usability of MML has been verified and proven.
