摘要
The paper focuses the transformations in the Romanian engineering higher education system. The education system's structure and recent history are presented to demonstrate the actual evolution of the student numbers and the perspective of the higher education system in Romania. The paper discusses the basic principles concerning higher education and the distribution and types of higher education institutions in Romania. The impact of private institutions on student numbers is also shown. The main reforms in Romanian higher education covers several key aspects, which are elaborated on in the paper. Funding and access to the higher education system is discussed. International cooperation, including the range of programmes involved, is elucidated, such as those with the European Union (EU).
