INTERACTION OF ECO-CONTROL IN ENVIRONMENTAL AND ECONOMIC PERFORMANCE: A CASE STUDY IN A TEXTILE INDUSTRY

Purpose: Understand how the interaction between eco-control and environmental and economic performance occurs in a textile industry. Method/approach: With a qualitative approach, data collection was carried out through a case study, according to the triangulation of data (documents, interview and observations). From the data collected, they were systematically categorized and analyzed in line with the central themes of this study. Main findings: The results showed that the company Alfa makes use of eco-control packages and from their application, gains in environmental and economic performance were evidenced. In addition to these benefits, it was also possible to conclude a gain in the company's social sphere, since improvements were noticed in the lives of the local population and, together with this, a greater gain in value for its local customers in the sale of its products. Thus, meeting the needs of managers to implement environmental strategies without compromising profitability in the short, medium and long term. Theoretical, practical/social contributions: This research contributes with theoretical and empirical understanding of the positive benefits that a company obtains with the adoption of eco-control packages, namely, environmental, economic and social. Originality/relevance: The research presents a discussion that involves the concept and applicability of eco-control, a subject still little explored in the literature.
