摘要
Quality is an important competitiveness factor in the sector of textile and clothing industry (TCI). Proceeding from the development of TCI, the strategic importance of quality for competitiveness is emphasized. The analysis starts from the process quality, quality of companies in the supply chain and their impact on productivity and profitability. Based on case studies of TCI in Serbia, the hypothesis of a lower starting level of competitiveness in the sector of TCI compared to the EU average is confirmed, which follows the lower quality level of TCI sector and lower level of integrated management systems implementation. A significant correlation between quality and economic performance of certified companies in Serbia is investigated.
