The enthalpies of transfer of diaza-18-crown-6 isomers into various solvents

摘要
The enthalpies of solution of the 1,7-diaza-18-crown-6 and 1,10-diaza-18-crown-6 isomers were studied calorimetrically in tetrachloromethane, benzene, chloroform, pyridine, acetone, acetonitrile, DMFA, DMSO, methanol, and water at 298.15 K. The enthalpies of transfer of the crown ethers corrected for the different enthalpies of formation of cavities changed in parallel with the dipole moment of solvent molecules. Specific interactions between the crown ethers and water, chloroform, and methanol were observed. Some strengthening of specific interactions of 1,7-diaza-18-crown-6 compared with 1,10-diaza-18-crown-6 is explained by differences in the conformational behavior of the isomeric molecules in solution.
