A new method for the synthesis of peptide nucleic acids

摘要
A novel synthetic method for PNA oligomerization was developed. To this end, a new a-amino protecting group was introduced. This protecting group, namely NPS, may be removed under reductive mild acidic conditions, thus avoiding possible undesirable transacylation. Antisense PNA sequences prepared by this method were satisfactory tested in vitro showing silencing potency similar to that found for analogous siRNA.
