摘要
The general sum-connectivity index of a graph G = (V, E) is chi(alpha)(G) = Sigma uv is an element of E(d(u)+d(v))(alpha), where d(v) denotes the degree of a vertex v and a is a real number. The expressions for computing the general sum-connectivity indices of benzenoid systems and phenylenes are given, a relation between the general sum-connectivity indices of a phenylene and its corresponding hexagonal squeeze is determined. Also, the catacondensed hexagonal systems with the extremal general sum-connectivity indices are completely characterized.
