Inelastic light scattering and the correlated metal-insulator transition

摘要
Inelastic light scattering is an important probe of the two-particle charge excitations in a correlated material. We show how to determine the nonresonant response to inelastic light scattering exactly in the limit of large spatial dimensions by employing dynamical mean field theory. We examine the optical photon case of Raman scattering and the X-ray photon scattering case which exchanges both energy and momentum with the charge excitations. A number of formal details that have not appeared elsewhere are included here.
