摘要
The work aims at developing a reliable method for the prediction of the flank temperature state of polymer gears after longer running periods, where a quasi-steady thermal state is achieved. The method consists of a preliminary numerical computation analysis, using the finite element method for a single meshing cycle, where the characteristic flank contact pressures and sliding speed patterns can be identified. Based on the stress and sliding speed data obtained from the analysis it is then possible to develop a semi-analytical procedure for the computation of the maximum long term quasi-steady state temperature at the tooth flank. The temperature identification is based on a decomposition of the total contact temperature into a bulk temperature change component and a flash temperature increase contribution added to the initial ambient temperature state. Using the developed procedure a test involute gear geometry will be investigated, for which a validation process will be possible using available experimental data.
