摘要
Induction machine is the most popular machine in power system because of its wide range of operations in motor as well as in generator too, and therefore, its accurate parameters estimation and modeling is always required. Induction machine parameters can be classified into two categories: (1) electrical parameters and (2) mechanical parameters. DC test, no load, and block rotor tests are the popular experimental methods to evaluate electrical parameters. To find mechanical parameters such as moment of inertia and damping coefficient, retardation test is performed. In simulation-based studies, an analytical approach is required for estimating both electrical and mechanical parameters for induction machine directly by using manufacturer data as mentioned by the machine suppliers. Analytical methods for getting electrical parameters have been presented by several authors while procedure for estimating mechanical parameters is almost untouched. This paper presents an analytical approach especially for estimating mechanical parameters of induction machine using transient response parameters along with electrical parameters' estimation followed by initial reference model. Results are obtained for machines of rating 1.1, 3.0, 11, 37.5, and 50 kW. The performances are also validated with the recent published papers that estimate the parameters using experimental procedures.
