摘要
The swiftness with which the concept of Emotional Intelligence (EI) has caught on today raises central questions on what we need to know. The current debates in this area suggest that the emotional intelligence paradigm has become scientifically matured. As paradigm mature, certain approaches within the paradigm are being shaped and emerged this might result in a new theory. This study raises issues and questions, provides an insight to all those issues and inkblot perceptions in an effort to sharpen them and surface hidden assumptions. The main addressed questions here are: Can El predicts Workplace performance? Is El a better predictor of work performance than other measures of intelligence? Which kinds of work performance El seems to predict better? Can El be developed? Should El be measured? Also, the relationship between ethics and El is demonstrated. This descriptive study aims to strengthen thinking, to further advance the field.
