摘要：

For utilizing the check-in counter effectively and serving the passengers better, the queue theory is used to analyse the influence on check-in process by using passenger arrival pattern, and to make certain the number of counters that a flight need in both conditions of passengers arriving symmetrically and asymmetrically. In order to minimize the number of counter used, a mathematic model based on integer programming is solved. The results of simulations with the practical flight information show the validity of the approach.
