摘要
Watershed is not simply the hydrological unit of socio-political and ecological entity which plays important role in the determining of food, social, and economical security and provides life support services to rural people. Rassia watershed is located in the periphery part of the Subernarekha basin, under Nilagiri Division of Balasore. The study area is totally rain fed so lake of availability of water for drinking and domestical purpose is very little use; it is the big problem in this region. The response of a watershed to different hydrological processes and its behavior depends upon various physiographic, hydrogeological and geomorphological parameters. The characterization of a watershed provides an idea about its behavior of this region. The various parameter characteristics of a watershed behave in more or less noticeable manner. In our study area of Rassia Micro watershed of Balasore District has been interpret through the help of Geomorphology, Geology, Lineament density, Soil type, Drainage density, land use/land cover and slope with the help of GIS technique. Finally to prepare the action plan maps i.e., land resources development and water resources development by integrating the information obtained from GIS analysis of this Micro watershed region.
