摘要
Neurospora sitophila is a microscopic filamentous fungus of the Ascomycete taxon that rapidly expands in the environment. Although the fungus has been recorded primarily as a known laboratory contaminant, this contribution presents evidence of its frequent occurrence in indoor environment of offices at the university, especially in places where a coffee maker was part of the equipment. A total of 50 smears were made from the environment of the University of VSB - TU Ostrava from various parts of the fixtures. It was found that spores and fragments of N. sitophila mycelia are an active part of the building air using the BIOLOG identification system. Although no direct evidence has yet been obtained that N. sitophila is the causative agent of human disease or infection, the presence of this fungus in the environment should be regarded as a risk factor for human health. Exposure to fungal spores and fragments of mycelia in the indoor environment of buildings can cause hypersensitivity known to be an influencing factor in allergic reactions and asthma.
