Analysis of the influence of spatial coherence of radiation on the contrast characteristics of objects in scattering media

摘要
The problem of determination of the contrast of an image of the border of an object located behind a layer of a light-scattering medium in the case when the object is illuminated with spatially coherent radiation is considered. It is demonstrated that the contrast of the image of an edge of a half plane is substantially different if coherent and incoherent irradiation is used. The reasons for this difference are discussed.
