摘要
Unemployment in Slovakia is a serious socio-economic problem, due to its height, the average duration of the long term and significant regional disparities. There are groups of citizens who have significant problems of success on the labour market. One of such groups are women. Unemployment of women and their disadvantaged position in the labour market is currently topical and important issue not only in Slovakia but also all over the world. This problem is partially solved by legislation on gender equality and equal opportunities in the labour market, measures relating to the fight against discrimination and equal treatment. However, we constantly meet with discrimination of women in the labour market in different forms. The aim of this paper is to analyze the status of women in the labour market in selected region of Slovakia and point out the most significant problems in this area.
