摘要
The internal cohesion of the text poses less difficulty than the cultural coherence of the discourse. For most Chinese students, the difficulty in understanding an English discourse mainly comes from three aspects: differences in values and attitudes, differences in customs and differences in thinking patterns for arranging one's ideas. Teaching of English as a Foreign Language should pay attention to these factors so that the teaching result can he improved.
