摘要：

Globalization happens not merely in the field of economy,but in cultural norms as well.The article offers an overview of Grice’s Cooperative Principle,Leech’s GSP,Brown and Levinson’s Face theory and some Chinese scholar supplementary maxims to polite principles,and then light is shed on analyzing the reasons that lead to different understanding of politeness across the eastern and western culture.
