Research on the Core Competency of Subject Librarian and Mode of Embedded Subject Services in Library

Since 1990, the subject librarian system was introduced into China. Subject service in China's university library has been made a lot of promotion and development. Some university libraries carried out some exploration and research work around the subject service. At present, the model of subject librarians and professional teachers participate in subject service. Therefore, the ability of the subject librarian, especially the core competency which directly affects the library subject service performance and innovation process. Based on the existing research achievements, this paper will describe the core competency of subject librarian, connotation, characteristics, and service mode of the embedded subject service, and takes a case as an example to explore scientific research project model.
