Impact of "Horizontal-Vertical" social norms on performance behavior: Based on a Simplified Trust Experiment

From the perspective of social preference of paying attention to the behavior of others and concerning the process, behavioral economists analyze the impact of social preference on the behavior of heterogeneous individuals. This paper provides a simplified trust experiment in the background of the lending market, using the evaluation for "Horizontal" and "Vertical" norms to measure the rule preference of individuals. According to the repayment decision in the experiment to investigate the impacts of rule preference on the performance. The results of the experiment show that: "Horizontal - Vertical" social norm have a significant influence on performance, and the individuals prefer "Horizontal" preference performance better than the "Vertical" ones.
