摘要
Distance learning through information and communication technologies is becoming increasingly popular. It enables long-distance education, expanding education and staff qualifications. Distance learning helps with frequent changes in requirements for new skills and competencies of workers. The paper examines why a student chooses a distance form of computer science. The survey among students was conducted using questionnaires and interviews. The results were compared with the results from previous years. While a large part of the distance computer science student had previously worked in this field, these students aimed to increase their qualification in the field and to get better conditions for professional growth. Currently, a large number of students do not work in the field of computer science. They want to change their focus. Distant students claim they have a high motivation for successful abstention of distance learning. However, experience shows that distance learning results are often worse than for full-time students. The results of the statistical comparison show that, at the beginning of the bachelor's study, distant students have much less success than full-time students.
