摘要：
Mass communication under globalization conditions (by Vilen Ivanov and Mikhail Nazarov) focuses on changing practices in world information exchange linked to globalization trends. Media-globalization appears of the authors as but a source and component part in globalization process along with emergence of global media industries and their activities. Logic of debates related to cultural and ideological impact of media globalization is followed up, and Russian contexts of the above issues are discussed in detail. The issue as a whole is stated to be a challenge for current nation-states. New configuration of political and economic forces is seen as a pre-requisite for a set of conceptual and practical steps to minimize actual and eventual negative impact of global trends in mass media.
